  • Hi JayAaerow,

I just posted a blog post about Volunteer Curators here on Soul Eater Wiki and I'm wondering if it'd be ok with you and the rest of the admin team if I posted a community message about it (like a site-wide message, but just for this wiki). We're hoping to attract anime news fanatics to help round out our anime coverage on Fandom.com .

    Thanks!

  • Hello, I've watched the Soul Eater Anime show and have now come across the character Tsugumi Harudori who is not familiar to me. Where was she shown? Are there addtional shows/show cases to the Anime besides the manga? Because from her image gallery, she seems to have been animated. Thanks in advance.

    • Yes. There's a spinoff of Soul Eater called Soul Eater NOT! in which takes place roughly a year before the events of Soul Eater. It lasts 12 episodes and can be found online or even youtube. It may come up with various contradictions because the anime botched itself up before and the anime of NOT does follow more closely to the manga (in which between mangas has a fairly consistent timeline without major contradictions)

    • I see. Much obliged. I might start helping around in this wiki. No promises though.

  • Good evening, I have a doubt regarding Exodus657's latest contributions. Can these doubts of mine be confirmed or dismissed? http://souleater.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Contributions/Exodus657 Thanks. KiwiNeko14 (talk) 18:19, March 21, 2016 (UTC)

    • Thanks for keeping an eye out. As it turns out, It's a vandalizer I've dealt with mutiple times inserting false information. That itself isn't bad. We make mistakes. But when you're persistent to the point I enforce a year long block and you come back....Yeah.

Anyway, thank you. The situation was handled, I restored the lost information with a rollback so everything should be fine now. :)

  • I put up a discussion to go over the legitimacy of the deleted page. I get that the name may not have been official, though that could be easily changed. However, as you've said before, the abililty is real. It seems to be inclusive to quite a few characters.

  • Would it be fine to make some nouns pertaining to Crona gender neutral? Nothing big like changing all pronouns already in place. Just things like profession, in places where it says demon swords"man" instead of swordsperson or sword master.

    • Sword Master is in use but If it's not on other pages, feel free to change it.

  • Right now the talk page for the Sid Barrett article is at Talk:Sidney Barret could you possibly fix this?

  • In regards to the Magic Lifeforms article, in Episode 5 of SEN, when Shaula gets up and the camera is aimed at her back, two glowing scorpions are visible in the terrarium behind her. Pretty sure they're anime-only. Would those qualify for the article?

      Loading editor
    • No.While a unique color, it's speculatory to say they're magical lifeforms since we know next to nothing about them at all. We don't even get a good view of them. I think the purpose of em was to shouw Shaula's theme and regular scorpions can do that.

  • No probs you deleted "Excalibur face", but there's four requests for that page on this wiki. That's why I made it. You might want to deal with those if these kind of situations may follow.

And for that matter, like, if I may I would like to take the opportunity to point out this wiki could really use a clean-up and some standardization to make the WantedPages, a basic starter point for editors, useable again. Because right now it's kind of a mess of false requests and I'm guessing other editors might respond... less than happy about situations like these.

I could start with a proposition blog if you want. I'd say I have a decent hang by now what background ailments this wiki could do curing. I hope this does not make me sound too interloper-ish; I do mean well with this.

    • First, redlinks are there because I make links to some pages that I did not know didn't exist or pages that we may want to add in the future. The Wanted Pages are not necessarily requested; they are automatically generated by Wikia. Wanted Pages are up to all contributors to determine whether or not they are actually needed; if any of us are unsure about creating a new page, that is a good reason to ask first before proceeding.

Second, while this Wiki is collaborative and we all hold responsibility for it, I wrote the plan for 12 new contributors by the end of 2016, which I posted here in the forums and at the Soul Eater Wikia Tumblr blog. I thought attracting one new contributor per month is realistic, and it is a goal to work towards, not necessarily one we will meet each month. If you have a problem with that request, take it up with me: I posted that set of goals, and no one offered alternatives to any specific goals listed. If you want to discuss a different approach, please join that conversation in that forum or on Tumblr, not bring it up somewhere else where it is harder to find. And if you want to see more contributors here, help us bring them: keep making necessary improvements to the site, and persuade strong writers that you know who can help add new pages and improve curent ones.

Third, you have been one of the most active new contributors to this wiki; you have made numerous improvements and added many pages I have wanted to see, as well as revisions to make articles clearer and more grammatically correct. I am sorry I have not mentioned that enough, and you deserve credit.

However, this is a collaborative web site. We are going to have disagreements, and that means we have to be respectful to each other. If you see a problem, please point out it and, if you have a solution in mind, offer it. I'm sorry that our responses can come across as much more serious online than if we could hear each other's voices or speak in person.

And I ask you to take the same approach: lately, when I read some summaries from you on certain pages, I feel like I'm being insulted based on choices other contributors and I have made to the site regarding details we have included or styles of writing we take that are disparaged, such as referring to the choice of saying "little is known" as "add[ing] nothing."

There are stylistic differences in our writing styles, but many of those differences are still within the rules of mature, professional writing, with proper use of grammar and spelling. So long as those various styles allow for concise, clear writing, I am satisfied. If we see grammatical errors, spelling errors, confusing sentence and paragraph structure, inaccurate information, and missing citations, then we can fix those errors without fear of insulting another contributor.

Please focus on the problems we are confronting, and please do not take our revisions or approaches as intending to insult. We want this site to be better--and we want it to be a site that welcomes more contributors.

    • I firstmost apologize for pointing at the wrong person when it comes to the 2016 resolutions. I secondly apologize for the bit regarding "I feel like I'm being insulted based on choices other contributors and I have made". It was not my intent and I can promise that from my own familiarity with that particular feeling I've been conscious of trying to avoid stirring it. Evidently, I failed at that, and I am truly sorry for that. I do not want either of you to feel that way.

I would like to respond to more at the moment, particularly the "little is known" bit, but I think it would be more efficient if I'd write that proposed blog to outline certain viewpoints and suggestions. I'll need time and I'll be preoccupied for a few days, so it'll probably be up in the weekend. I hope we'll continue this exchange then.
