Personal Information

Chris Suchan[1] (Divorced)

Kara Edwards is a United States actress for Funimation and Christopher Sabat's OkraTron 5000, as well as a radio personality. She provides voices for numerous video games and English versions of Japanese animated series. She is the English voice of the Fairy in the anime Soul Eater and Eternal Feather in the anime Soul Eater NOT!

The fall after she graduated from high school, Edwards began her broadcast career at Radio Disney in Dallas, Texas. She interned for eight months before working as writer, producer, voice actress, and children's voice director.

In July 1997, she became co-host of the "Squeege and Kara Show" on syndicated Radio Disney with friend and fellow voice actor Kyle Hebert (the English voice of Masamune Nakatsukasa in Soul Eater).[3]

Edwards also did voiceover work in commercials for companies such as Blockbuster Entertainment, Levi's Jeans, and Clinique cosmetics, as well as a variety of regional ads.

During the latter part of her Radio Disney tenure, Edwards started working for Funimation as a freelance voice actress. Her first role was as Lime in the Dragon Ball Z episode "A Girl Named Lime".

In March 2002, Edwards was hired as a producer and occasional "sidekick" for the Sander Walker in the Morning radio show on WSSS 104.7 FM in Charlotte, North Carolina. She stayed in this position until October 31, 2003.

In February 2004, she became the co-host of the Jeff Roper Morning Show, syndicated from WSOC 103.7 FM in Charlotte. In January 2005, Jeff Roper left WSOC to take a morning job at WWNU 92 FM in Columbia, South Carolina. WSOC management assigned Edwards as co-host with Rob Tanner for the new Tanner in the Morning show. The show's mix of regional humor and parodies made it one of the higher-rated morning shows in the Charlotte area's country music radio market. Edwards continued as co-host for two years.

In August 2006, Edwards and fellow Funimation actors Sean Schemmel, Chris Sabat, and Jason Liebrecht attended the Wizard World Comics Convention in Chicago, Illinois. When Dragon Ball fans waited in line up to five hours to get her autograph, Edwards considered entering voice acting as a full-time job. A few weeks later, Edwards informed WSOC that she would be leaving her job as co-host of Tanner in the Morning.

In Dallas, Edwards provides her voice to commercials, documentaries, and Funimation anime.[4] She portrays Kyo Sawagi in Ben-To, Kozue Orihara in Chaos;Head[5], Mina Hazuki in Darker than Black: Gemini of the Meteor, Goten in Dragon Ball, and Celica Yayoi in SoltyRei.

She also has acted in Barney & Friends, Raggs Kids Club Band, and Victorious.

She also acts in numerous video games, including The Gunstringer, SMITE, and Squinkies.

Personal Life

Edwards met Charlotte CBS affiliate WBTV meteorologist Chris Suchan. They married in April 2006.[1] They were later divorced.

Soul Eater Voicing

Main article: Fairy Edwards voices the Fairy, a resident of the Eternal Cave forced to tolerate the annoying Holy Sword Excalibur in the first Soul Eater series. Edwards is currently the only English voice actor for the Fairy.

Main article: Mai Thi Hoang Edwards also voices Mai Thi Hoang, the butterfly knife NOT demon weapon who has the stage name Eternal Feather in Soul Eater NOT!. Edwards is currently the only English voice actor for Mai.
