The Star Clan (星の一族, Hoshi no Ichizoku) was an infamous clan of assassins who would do anything for money.[3] They're the off-shoot of the Hoshi family.[4]

History[]

Earlier history[]

The clan originally began as an off-shoot of the House Hoshi, a family of martial arts practitioners whose established dojo is known for practicing the Old Ways, martial arts whose techniques and methods aim to kill their opponents and were known users of techniques such as soul meance.[4][5]

At some point in their history, they began gaining their fame and infamy for their ruthlessness and undertaking any assassination mission for money. Among their brutal attacks included Needle Village, killing numerous people including the parents to Ryoku. The clan's similar attacks in other places eventually made them a feared clan and caused strife for the branch family.[1][2]

The Star Clan Purge[]

Eventually, about thirteen years ago, the Star Clan earned Death Weapon Meister Academy's attention when the clan went beyond their assassination contracts and violated their established rules by targeting and hunting human souls in search for power.[6] Several members of the academy (including Spirit Albarn, Franken Stein, and Sid Barrett) purged the clan as a result.[1][2][7]

Legacy[]

The infant Black☆Star, being the last of his clan, was taken in by the DWMA with Sid Barrett and the organization considering him innocent compared to his parents and was raised under their care and protection.[7] While eventually learning of his origins, Black☆Star held no ill will for it, regarding his parents as deserving of their fates although he would face discrimination from people outside the academy who bore grudges against the Star Clan.[2]

Due to the Star Clan's action, various branches such as the Hoshi family had to suppress their version of the Star Clan's pupils, with members such as Akane☆Hoshi using special glasses.[4]

Overview[]

The Star Clan were a clan of proficient assassins whom were known for their brutality, ruthlessness, and would take on any kind of assassination contract/mission for money.[1] The clan would also later take an interest in hunting for human souls in search of power, resulting with them becoming enemies with Death Weapon Meister Academy.[6] Additionally, as witnessed with both "Black☆Star" and "White☆Star", members within the Star Clan seem to follow some sort of unique naming format in which they give themselves a name of a color, followed by the stylization of a star (☆) in the middle, followed by the word "Star" like that of a surname.[1]

Strength[]

The Star Clan were made up of professional assassins whom were feared throughout the world such as Japan, whose known victims included Needle Village. Despite their skills, however, members of the clan were ultimately no match for younger fighters such as Sid Barrett and Franken Stein, both whom would ascended to becoming among the most powerful and high-ranking members of the academy.[7]

List of members[]

White☆Star Deceased
Black☆Star Active

Trivia[]

  • Along with the Star Clan's pupils, the Star Clan also sport a unique star tattoo on their body, they're either somehow born with and/or a tattoo permanently done onto the skin shortly after birth.[2]
  • Based on the ending of Fire Force, it is likely that the Star Clan consists of Rekka's descendants, who have inherited his eyes (a genetic trait) and share a similar surname.
