In Death Weapon Meister Academy, a ranked death scythe (デス・サイズ, Desu Saizu) is the highest ranking title attained by demon weapons in the academy.[2]

Considered a weapon partner of the then-headmaster Death[1], ranked death weapon can have various responsibilities, the main one being that they serve as the eyes and ears of the headmaster of Death Weapon Meister Academy as they're stationed to a region around the world, recognized as a "representative" in charge of the region.[3]
They're also capable of serving as instructors of the academy (permanent or temporary)[3][1], are in charge of responding to threats that threaten the order itself[3], and have some sort of significant political influence.[4]
