The Crayon Rabbit is an Easter egg that appears frequently in episodes of the anime Soul Eater. It is an anime-exclusive entity, found in more comedic episodes or comedic moments in more serious episodes. The Crayon Rabbit also appears briefly in some segments of The Late Show.
Characteristics and Uses
Unlike other rabbits that appear illustrated more realistically in the manga and anime of Soul Eater, this entity looks like it was drawn in crayon, even by a child.
When present, the rabbit shakes, adding to the seeming amateurishness of the entity not only in design but also how it is animated.
The Crayon Rabbit seems to act as an Easter egg to be spotted in supplemental material featured during episodes of The Late Show.
The Crayon Rabbit is also used in lieu of a censorship bar to cover nudity and states of undress of female students upon whom Hero spies when abusing Excalibur’s power.[1]
